Northeastern University | EXP

Boston, MA

Located next to the recently completed Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC), the new Northeastern University EXP facility is a state-of-the-art academic research center built to promote collaboration across disciplines. The 355,000 SF building includes bio/ chemical wet labs, dry labs, computational labs, robotics labs, maker space, classrooms, offices, and an executive floor. The EXP is designed to harmonize with the exterior of the ISEC.

The EXP is also located immediately adjacent to the MBTA Ruggles Station. Permitting and construction for the project involved significant ongoing coordination with the MBTA due to the adjacency of both the rail lines and a dedicated busway.

Completed in 2023, the EXP is a completely flexible facility with the ability to convert from dry labs to wet labs as needed to accommodate changes in occupants.
