Impact

At LMP, we are committed to serving the communities where we live and work.

Community

On every project, we strive to be good and responsible members of the communities where we work. LMP is currently working on several of the largest projects in the City of Boston and we take seriously the opportunity to affect change that comes with that volume of work, particularly when it comes to creating opportunities to enter the real estate industry for people in the neighborhoods surrounding our projects.

Within LMP and across our principal investments and project management assignments we are working to create new programs and partnerships that will begin to make longer-term strides toward a more equitable and diverse real estate development industry. This is work that we believe is necessary to make meaningful change and we work to connect our clients with these and other programs and partnerships to enhance projects’ DEI and workforce participation strategies and continue to create new opportunities in our industry.

Creating New Educational Opportunities

LMP launched the Bunker Hill Design Corps program in 2021 in partnership with the Boston Housing Authority, the Charlestown Resident Alliance, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. This paid summer internship for high school students provided opportunities for local students to complete the Wentworth SummerFAB program and learn about architecture, environmental justice, construction, engineering, and real estate development through project-based learning on-site in Charlestown. In the first three summers, this program has served 80+ students. In 2024, the fourth year of this program will feature a new partnership with YouthBuild Boston’s Designery program to provide exciting new architecture and design programming for our students.

Sustainability

In 2008, the build-out of our own office space was the first LEED Platinum corporate interior in the City of Boston, and today we are under construction on the Bunker Hill Housing Redevelopment which will be the largest Passive House project in North America. We are committed to furthering sustainable development in the communities where we live and work, and whether we are building a complex, ground-up facility or overseeing a renovation and retro-fit, we work to ensure those values are reflected in the built environment.

The majority of our work is in the Greater Boston area, and we bring extensive local experience with implementing the latest sustainability practices on projects of all sizes and types. Our expertise includes:

  • Ratings & Certifications: LEED, Passive House, Living Building Challenge, Well, and others.
  • Local Regulations: BERDO 2.0
  • Client Energy and Decarbonization Goals
