Leggat McCall Properties, in partnership with McCall & Almy, has served as an advisor to Harvard on their overall Allston planning and development efforts since 2011. We are engaged on all aspects of the initiative, including facilitating key administrative decisions and assisting with permitting strategy and entitlement, in addition to working on individual assignments such as the development of the Continuum project.

On this assignment, the LMP/M&A team acted as real estate advisor to Harvard in creating/selecting the site/parcel, conducting an RFP process for developers, selecting the developer, and negotiating a ground lease and development agreement on behalf of the University.

The site was selected at the corner of Western Ave. and N. Harvard St. to be the new focal point of Barry’s Corner and activate the initial phase of the development of the Allston campus.

Samuels & Associates was selected as the developer and took the 325-unit residential building through permitting, design, and construction. The Continuum also features 45,000 SF of ground floor retail and below-grade parking.
