Leggat McCall Properties, in joint venture with DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, has started construction on a mixed-use campus in the Boynton Yards industrial area of Somerville, MA. Located adjacent to Union Square and only one mile from Kendall Square, the City of Somerville plans for Boynton Yards to be redeveloped into a vibrant, mixed-use district comprised of lab, office, multifamily and neighborhood retail and community arts space.

The first building to be delivered as a part of Boynton Yards is a 289,000 SF speculative lab building that matches the quality of newly constructed buildings in Kendall Square/East Cambridge and provides state-of-the-art lab space geared towards emerging life science companies.

Flagship Pioneering leased 100% of 101 South to house four companies spawned from their life sciences platform – Cellarity, Tessera Therapeutics, Laronde, and Generate Biomedicines. The tenant-fit out was fast-tracked to tailor the flexible floorplates to their individual needs and deliver space less than a year after leases were signed during Each company has both wet lab (biology and chemistry) and office space.
