Leggat McCall is project manager for the $45
million expansion and renovation project of the
Boston Children’s Museum that will transform both
the museum and its waterfront site on the Fort Point
Channel.
The renovation began in the spring of 2006
and is scheduled to be completed in 2007. The
project will include a 23,000 square-foot
three-story addition, as well as a new theater, and
major new exhibitions in arts, culture, science and
math, and health and fitness in over 50,000 square
feet of renovated space in the Museum’s historic
warehouse. The project is designed by Cambridge
Seven Associates and Michael Van Valkenburgh
Associates, and the building and site incorporate
sustainable design elements, including the use of
green materials and a green roof.
